There are so many messed up people in the world, something I've slowly come to realise as I get older, deal with more people (and my neuro-psychologist friend tells me general/vague stories).

Realizing that the world is not the safe place you were promised and that there are rotten elements everywhere is probably a rite of passage for most people. Doesn't mean it's a pleasant experience. :-/
