Re: What do you like to see in a hurt/comfort fic?

At first I was going to pass by this thread because I didn't think I liked hurt/comfort, but then I realized that I do like fics where a character is either injured or sick and another character helps them recover. I especially like it if the one who's hurt is stubborn and doesn't want to accept help at first and/or the one who's helping them recover is kind of a rough character that you wouldn't normally think of as being all that nurturing. I guess the combination of one character being vulnerable and maybe having to open themselves up to being helped with another character showing unexpected affection through caring for them just really appeals to me.

I'm not a big fan of ones where the hurt is more emotional... it just feels too melodramatic for me.
