I am the anon who was waffling on watching the S3 BBC Sherlock vid that is floating around. I'm working my way through it, but let me tell you, I do not now, nor will I ever, understand people who hate!watch things. I wouldn't call this hate!watching so much as sheer duty, just so I can keep up with the conversations.

I'm at the fanfic writers' group part right now. Not sure what the SJWs are on about...but they've assassinated Anderson's character totally.

...and it's only getting worse....

I don't understand why everyone thinks Anderson's scenes were hilarious or endearing. I found it pretty sad, to be honest. He lost his job and was hinging on losing his mind, completely obsessed with Sherlock out of guilt... it just didn't seem funny at all to me. I don't see it as "OH EM GEE HE WAS A FAN ALL ALONG HOW CUTE LAWL" but more "He's going mad because he thinks it's his fault Sherlock is dead and denial is the only thing to keep him going"

This was my reaction too, Anderson went from a reasonably well-fleshed-out side character, to basically a cardboard prop for the fandom's "theories."

Oh look. They got to blow up Parliament for the shock value. *rolls eyes* Bit spendy, this series? Feel the need to show your work? Charming.

Aaaaaaaand now we're back to the "mind palace" garbage. Did I mention how much I hated the concept in their adaptation of HOUN? Wait, I did. So. I mention it again.

Thumbing their noses at the Canon reunion in the way that they did was just childish and immature. Though I'm sure they smirked over it endlessly as they wrote it. Just more of that "We can do ACD better than ACD did because he did it all wrong and we're going to show you what's right, the opposite of how it was originally written, that's what's right!" attitude problem.

Ugh. Small doses. If I can manage to get through "The Empty Hearse" tonight without kicking in the TV, I might get through the whole series by the end of the week month.

This isn't hate-watching, it's sick-making. This show had so much potential, it really did. *grumble*

Oh no. Anderson was one of my favourites (I have a soft spot for characters who aren't easily impressed, or supposed to hate because they aren't). Dude was just doing his job just like Sally :(
