Why must there "be a point" to start reading books about adults, by adults, for adults? If someone doesn't want to, it's their own preference (and it doesn't make them a "lesser" adult - some people even prefer to don't read any books at all).

Just because someone loves reading doesn't mean they are required to read something they don't want to read just because there are "more shelves" out there.

That's the good thing about being an adult: no one can dictate you what you have to read (like in school).
The same applies for music, tv shows, movies, etc.
