Eh, I hate Lori's character (who wasn't much better in the comic), but I hate how her mess is all because the writers clearly didn't know what the hell to do with her. I find it annoying that these scrappy types are ladies because it has everything to do with shit writing, or even acting.

Jfc, it's like all they could come up for her was SHE'S A WFYFE. RICK WYFE. MAYBE A MAMA TIMES TWO. WYFE and thought it would make for entertainment.

Eta: oh yeah forgot to mention that I end up getting mad at people who hate Lori for the "wrong" reasons. Like those weirdos who think she had to become a nun when she thought Rick was dead. It's like I have to correct people eurgh.

Meanwhile, Carol is shafted, and we spend a million years thinking about how deep the governor is.

Don't even get me started on people that thought Andrea was 'weak' for wanting to die early on. Or the writers who thought that obviously hooking Andrea up with the Governor was a good idea. Because all women want is a dick right?

I loved that she was affected, and that she even carried over some resentment toward Dale for stopping her. Neither of them were ever going to see eye-to-eye on it, and that's real. One of the complaints I always see about TWD is how it's always about people having problems, and that it's not about survival badassery. That's Michonne's (and Daryl's) territory, and they work as supporting characters for this type of show that is supposed to be about people failing to work shit out because they're stuuupid.

And augh that was so dumb having Andrea fall all over the Governor. You know what was a huge fakeout for me, and probably my own fault for expecting anything consistently nice, was not actually showing us her friendship with Michonne. Whether it was growing, or tested after establishing it, I got nothing but fanon and headcanons. Exploring that would have been swell, but no. I get her falling for the next psychotic dude, because I guess that's all tv!Andrea is going to be defined by. It was so frustrating to watch!

Exactly. I just could not with the people who used to whine about how she was "so mean" to Shane. Um. He told her that her husband was dead and began a sexual relationship with her while she was terrified and struggling to cope with the world falling apart - and then her husband comes back and suddenly she realizes she's actually committing adultery all this time with a guy who now things she's "his woman" and FUCK NO.

And do not get me started on the Governor. As far as I'm concerned, he's just Shane v2.0 but better at hiding it. (Which is probably why the fandom is so obsessed with him, come to think of it.)

Carol is awesome and no power in the 'verse can convince me otherwise.

Thankfully Carol in the TV series is way better than Carol in the comics. That Carol just got sort of creepy and weird.

One thing about the show I like is that they do not always follow book canon. She was alright until the Tyreese/Michonne and macking on Lori. Holy crap Robert Kirkman was weird. Where did any of that come from.

If anyone was to blame, and especially hate, about the "adultery," it was Shane. Not necessarily for starting it, since even he didn't think he could save Rick or see him again, but for prolonging that lame drama. Interesting character, but absolutely a fucko. And nobody, in regards to the Lori hate, ever remembers his attempted rape ffs. I do not care that he was drunk or sad or that Lori was basically a different character every episode. No. nooooo

Part of my rankling was probably from watching people tear into Skyler White on Breaking Bad. While she's a character I like, but don't doubt Vince Gilligan failed in getting the point of her across, her haters also have that misogynistic undertone whenever they rail on.

Shane 2.0 haha. I remember seeing the "going from Maggie 2.0 to Andrea 2.0" jokes about the new lady that banged the Governor, but wondering where all of the Shane 2.0 ones were. God I hate how much everyone loves him. The "will he redeem himself???" arc that was some unnecessary plot device to break everyone out of jail was so dumb.

WHEN DO WE GET TO CAROL'S ROAD ADVENTURES? Bussing her will never not be the worst decision this show has done recently. She was the slow burn of development, and so perfect. And she didn't level up over a gun lesson with Rick; she took three seasons to get so understandably cold and logical. Damn. I want Carol back.

Seriously. After the attempted rape, I was DONE with Shane. I genuinely do not understand how anybody could've sided with him over Lori (OR Rick) after that, never mind the fuckery he got up to in season 2.

Carol will be back, I'm sure of it. Hell, I was half-expecting that we were gonna see Carol riding up and helping the prison crew against the Governor in the midseason finale. I was so disappointed when it didn't happen.

I don't like Lori either, but people who shit on her because she got together with Shane when she thought Rick was dead are just... I don't know. Unreasonable. I mean, it's the zombie apocalypse and you're pretty sure your husband is dead... why would you not get with someone else? Life is probably going to be very short after all, might as well make the best of it.

Because wife. And apparently the grieving period involves abstinence for a full moon and seven days because she is unclean and other bullshit.

I've been watching Walking Dead since day 1 but I wasn't really into fandom until season 3 or so, and I was absolutely... well, shocked to say the least that there were significant portions of fandom that called what Lori did "cheating." She thought her husband was DEAD, ffs. She sought comfort in the arms of someone who also loved and cared about her husband, how in the hell is that wrong? I'm just floored by the extent to which fandom hates women.
