You could pick up a hobby. That always helps me when I'm stuck at home feeling aimless. Especially if it's something that requires a bit of planning or setup. I like making jewelry, and it's often more fun to go shopping, and lay stuff out to fit it together, and then go shopping again, then get all my tools out. And, at the end, I have something pretty to wear or gift away, so it's a very satisfying hobby.

Or you could start reading a big book series. There are a few that could easily take a year, if you're into fantasy. Or Dune, since you said 'scifi' above.
