Relax, OP. This is not Tolkien fanfiction, I guarantee it: "Moonfleet is a tale of smuggling by the English novelist J. Meade Falkner, first published in 1898." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonfleet

Think more "Treasure Island" or "Jamaica Inn" (the last probably drawing on "Moonfleet" itself).

I don't think the OP actually thought "Moonfleet" was Tolkien fanfiction. Pretty sure the secret's about the physical resemblance that guy has to Frodo.
