She was "treated as a joke" in the exact same way that Anderson was; they weren't mocking fat slash fangirls, they were poking fun at fandom in-wars. Anderson's ridiculously over-the-top "theory" at the beginning was ruthlessly mocked, and yet he's the one that stopped her in her tracks because it didn't fall into alignment with his own. And she called him out on it! It was a perfectly fine, funny scene.
