Two words: Indoctrination Theory.

Honestly, I half-suspect that was where they were going with it, then changed their minds about it later on (which is rarely a good creative decision in terms of writing). Thus it's my canon. And you can keep most of ME3, though there's a lot of it I'd rather not.

I already know about that. I think most of it just isn't good enough for me. (Also, I know too many people who claim it's 100% canon and I cannot deeeaaaalllll with that.)
