You may also have an issue with unstable blood sugar. I've found that watching what I eat in the morning is key to having stable blood sugar - so that hunger pangs don't turn into panicky situations, and also so I don't get unwarranted cravings for unhealthy stuff. A nutrient-dense breakfast is your best bet. Personally, I love the Ultimate Meal for a morning smoothie (you add apple, banana, and blueberries), but YMMV.

Another key to stabilizing blood sugar, for me, has been controlling alcohol intake. If I drink the night before, I'm way more likely to crave bad food the next day.
