I don't think society will ever fully internalize the idea of racial and sexual equality---I don't think that's in our nature. That is, by the time we get over the current racial issues we'll likely find new ones. When we get over our current sexual hang-ups we'll invent new ones. There's no enlightenment, just incremental improvement.

I think we can be winning the current battle while time bombs are simmering, if that makes sense. I think we're equipped to fight them.
