Exactly.

Now, if this was playful bickering that they both enjoyed/found funny, then I can totally accept an underlying note of attraction. Being able to give each other shit without true malice implies trust and closeness.

Except that most writers seem to confuse this with actual nasty bickering like they're goddamn children. Uuuuugghh.
