[The Quick and the Dead]

I wouldn't say it's my favourite movie but I liked it.

He is really fugly.

You are that annoying cousin no one likes, but everyone have to put up with, aren't you?

(Anonymous) 2014-01-23 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
I liked that movie as well, and not even in a "Guilty pleasure" kind of way. But I never understood why I should have my enjoyment in media cut short by elitist assholes who think they can decide what you should and shouldn't like. Same with a lot of Kevin Costner movies - I really liked The Postman and everywhere you turn, people are complaining that it was a terrible movie. There are a lot of movies/books/actors I think are shitty, but I'm not telling people they have to stop enjoying them if they like it. I just stay clear of it and everyone's happy. (Only exception is when people repeatedly want to convince me those things are great, but that's another matter.)

I liked that one too (the postman). I saw it in the theater and only had to pee once (my measure of how much I'm enjoying a film relates to how long I'm willing to hold it LOL).

What, really? Dude, my dad and I would watch this movie every time we saw it on TV. It was part of our bonding time. ;3;

(Anonymous) 2014-01-23 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, it's been AGES since I've seen this movie in its entirety, but I remember liking it, and I only managed to watch the last third you mentioned over the summer, but I still liked it.

So...yeah, if anyone has a bone to pick, just know that there is someone out there who is willing to be anonymously "tasteless" with you.

The Quick and the Dead was the spaghetti western for the 1990s. A great ensemble cast, a script that not only invited them to chew the scenery, it gave them a fucking spittoon, Raimi's gonzo horror cinematography, and a brilliant gender-swap to top it off.

I liked the movie but I hated when the scuzzball came out all "she wriggled like a fish", man, that part still makes me want to puke.

I liked all the actors in it though; great cast!

(Anonymous) 2014-01-23 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, me too. I love the movie, but want to erase that bit from my memory forever. At least Sharon Stone killed him seconds later.

I love this movie and have watched it several times. I don't care how many people think it sucked, I'm gonna keep loving it :)

Fuck those chumps this movie was awesome.

The Quick and the Dead is a fucking great film.

It was all right, though that kind of setup, with one person ruling and dictating everyone and being a vicious ass isn't a story that attracts me too much. But yeah, Ms Stone looked awesome and her character was a badass and it was kinda fun in a weird way. Plus - a guy in chains, can't poo poo that.

Wait, we're not supposed to like this movie? I love this movie! (But thank you for reminding me that I haven't watched it in ages!)

(Anonymous) 2014-01-23 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
It's not my favorite movie ever but I definitely enjoyed it and watch it again from time to time. So I guess I'm tasteless too.

Omg I loved this movie!

(Anonymous) 2014-01-23 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
IA with the other comments, this movie was cool and fun and Sharon Stone was great in it. It is also probably the only movie in which I actually find Russel Crowe hot.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-23 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ridiculous. This movie is great.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-23 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
0_o I love that movie. I hadn't realised that was uncool.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-23 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
That movie fucking rocks. The preacher's first duel is the moment when I started paying attention to this Russell Crowe fellow, because it was AMAZING.

I seem to recall everyone thought it was fun albeit not necessarily *great*, when it came out. Mind you, it came out a little before DiCaprio became uncool to like because so immensely popular thanks for Titanic, and before Sharon Stone became uncool due to unfortunate film choices (though to be honest, maybe she just chose from not many offers) and, much later, idiotic things she said.
