I've always been most partial to Violet Hunter and Kitty Winter, though I admit that the depth of my fondness for their names rather biases me.

Violet is definitely my favorite.

On the subject of names, though, my favorite is probably Hatty Doran. For some reason, I can't help but picture her as being from the 1920s with her hair in a cute bob, even though the story was published in the 1890s.

Oh, Violet all the way. Though I'm also fond of Theresa Wright (the maid from Abbey Grange) for keeping cool and basically going 'I got this'. And the unnamed woman who shot Milverton to death, because there's a part of me that just admires how thorough she was about it (couple in the chest until he fell down, one more when he got back up, and then her foot in his face just to make sure). I mean, if you're going to vengefully murder someone, why not be comprehensive about it?

Totally agreed about Theresa and also the anonymous woman. I really wish the latter had a name so I could fawn over her properly.

Those are cool names.

And to think, he thought of them without using an online generator! Wish I could do that. :|a

Violet Hunter is who I (het)ship with Holmes. She's great. Proactivity ftw!

I was going to say Lestrade, but then I saw 'female' specified.

Violet Hunter, Violet Smith, Irene Adler, Hatty Doran, Kitty Winter, Theresa Wright, and the lady who killed Milverton. I also have a soft spot for poor Helen Stoner, she of the terrible miserable life of abuse but with still enough courage to fight to protect herself and her shot at happiness.

I think I would rank Mary Morstan up there too if I got a little more information about her. The hints we've got made me like her a lot (especially in The Man With The Twisted Lip), but she doesn't feel as complete as she ought to so I can't really judge her properly.

Irene Adler and Violet Hunter. :)

Those two are my favorites as well, due to their initiative-taking badassery in their respective stories.
