Be as harsh as you need to be, but tell me this: (1) why are you kidnapping tall people?, and (2) I'm too short to fight!

AYRT - Frederick William I. had a regiment called "Lange Kerls" (literally "Long Guys"), comprised solely of men over 1.88m tall. There were practical reasons, but it's safe to say he really liked tall soldiers.
Prussia didn't have a big population at the time, so even before he became king, Frederick William sent scouts through pretty much half of Europe to find more tall men. The scouts then either bribed the men into joining, or just kidnapped them. (The rulers of the other countries really weren't happy about that...)
There's more story here, especially about his son Frederick the Great, but I should stop before I start rambling. ^^


On an odd side-note: I am indeed attracted to tall men. Well, well, well. XD
