Just a feminist here to give you a high five for finding out he supports Equality Now! I was never a big Joss Whedon fan or anything, but I had to do a paper years ago that included writers who have donated to causes, and I found out about his his work for that organization. He even did a wonderful speech about it which can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYaczoJMRhs

Also I'm pretty sure he's mentioned that he identifies as a feminist and supports the cause. Anyway, his credibility is definitely there.
