It is skeevy pandering to otaku and people act like that it isn't becoming worse. Sure, there has always been pandering but not to this extent.

For god's sake, this is Kancolle we are talking about, it's 100% otaku pandering. It's like watching a porn movie and bitching because it's only sex scenes and there is no plot.

There are still tons of manga and anime that aren't otaku pandering. Trust me, I would never watch or read an otakushit manga or anime and there are still tons of things I can enjoy with no pandering.

I was talking about in general. Otaku pandering has become more mainstream/pervasive. There's still a lot of shows coming out that don't pander to them. However, it seems like slowly each season has more shows catering to 'em. I dunno, I guess my criteria for otaku pandering is low.

I mostly focus on manga and watching older stuff these days.

Otaku and fujoshi are the only ones buying anime, so expect even more pandering in the future. Only people who are doing it for artsy reasons and not for the money will produce non pandering anime.

I know that, anon. It is inevitable. Bones is usually pretty good at producing fairly original/nonpandering stuff.

What are some anime/manga you recommend?

Boku no Pico is pretty good. Or Shounen Maid Kuro-kun.

If you're looking for somewhat recent anime with little sexualization/pandering and are above average in quality, I'd say check out Kyousogiga, Silver Spoon, or Uchouten Kazoku.

(I'm also currently watching Shin Sekai Yori, which so far is really, really, good and hasn't had any issues yet with pandering/sexualization.)

No problem!

And just a heads up, Silver Spoon's anime is a pretty cut and dry adaptation.

And do mine me asking what manga you've been reading?
