I love that blog. I followed that blog years before I started even using my tumblr.

Anyone else got recs for funny recap/review blogs? (Not necessarily fashion based.) I kind of want one for Supernatural right now because that show is hella dumb and I want make fun of it, but I love it too.

Me too (preferring journal format). I like the pics sometimes, but I what I really loved in fandom was the many many conversations about many things.

Insert obligatory Tumblr plug about how you can SO have conversations if you jump through multiple hoops - but I think most people will concede that it was not set up for text-based conversations and that is not its strength.

I kind of agree... Tumblr might no be the best for long discussion threads, but it's really fun for art and humor.

Maybe some day people will figure out that there can be several different fandom hubs with different functions?

But I do wish there was a fandom hub suited for discussions other than livejournal (mostly because I could never get into livejournal).

Seconding that wish. I had a LJ for five years but I abandoned it after all the crappy changes. And from what I can tell, DW doesn't seem very active. I'd love a new site centred around communities and discussion.

Definitely agree with this. Discussion-based fandom is way more interesting to me than tumblr - not that tumblr is bad, it just doesn't serve the particular function I would like to have.

Yes! And no. For me personally, I have limited internet usage and Tumblr just eats and eats and eats away at my bandwidth. Also, I do love the meta and that is not as strong over there. But yes, I do love the sense of humour and the fact that it's more image based.
