Some people can take it too far and act like their view is the only right one, but sometimes they "give characters brown skin" just because they like the aesthetics, just for fun. Is that really so bad?

Reading up through human history, I'll say that finding fault at things others consider to be fun is a constant of the ages.

Because I doubt that it's just for aesthetics because it's tumblr? I can't help but get the impression that people think that there's 'not enough brown people' and that they want to 'fix' it.

I sometimes get annoyed that a series is a sausage-fest but I don't then gender-swap some characters in all of my fan work to fix that problem.
