The fetus is so deformed they can't tell if it's male, female or intersex. They literally cannot properly examine it.

No the point is that the fetus is THAT deformed. The point is that if born it would have nothing but a short short life of pain hooked up to machines.

Fluid in the brain isn't going to trigger slippery slope avalanches. It's one of the classic signs that something has gone deeply wrong and the fetus is entirely incompatible with life or doomed to a wretched one.
