(Anonymous) 2014-01-25 05:31 am (UTC)(link)One of his characters is based on a Japanese general who was awful? The name escapes me, but I'm pretty sure that's what anons mean when they say "war crime apologist." Apparently it's causing a stir in a few of the non-English fandom parts.
/couldn't care less

(Anonymous) 2014-01-25 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)As someone from a country who got fucked up by Japan in WWII, I do care about it and I can see why they're angry. Japan's refusal to apologize for war crimes is a big issue with a lot of Asian countries.
It was Dot Pixis btw.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-25 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)I'm not from an Asian country (and not european nor north american), but I'm interested on asian culture lately (my english teacher is chinese and he's always telling us a lot of facts about asia since he travels there constantly). I've read news about the japanese PM and how he went to visit a shrine that has many war criminals buried there. And the scandal that brought, of course.
So, who is Dot Pixis representing? I mean, which person in real life is the base for his character. I'd like to read up more on that.
