One of his characters is based on a Japanese general who was awful? The name escapes me, but I'm pretty sure that's what anons mean when they say "war crime apologist." Apparently it's causing a stir in a few of the non-English fandom parts.

As someone from a country who got fucked up by Japan in WWII, I do care about it and I can see why they're angry. Japan's refusal to apologize for war crimes is a big issue with a lot of Asian countries.

Hello,

I'm not from an Asian country (and not european nor north american), but I'm interested on asian culture lately (my english teacher is chinese and he's always telling us a lot of facts about asia since he travels there constantly). I've read news about the japanese PM and how he went to visit a shrine that has many war criminals buried there. And the scandal that brought, of course.

So, who is Dot Pixis representing? I mean, which person in real life is the base for his character. I'd like to read up more on that.
