Sometimes, there's just some things that English majors need to let go (and I am one, so I speak from experience). Language is fluid and this is by far not the worst example of dictionaries sighing and admitting that improper usage has become accepted.

Next you'll be telling me I have to get "ain't" out of my vocabulary, and saying that word is my God-given right as a Texan, dagnabbit.
