Canon word of god says "if you're too stupid to see she's female, I can't help you either" and the fact that there are no gendered pronouns is just how the Japanese language works. Fans are allowed to interpret her any way they want, just don't delude yourself into thinking your headcanon is real when it's not!

You said she could be cis male. Cis male is per definition a man born in a male body. Breasts don't appear on biologically male bodies - you were the one who brought the "cis male" into this, so don't act as if I'm to blame.

He specifically told everyone working on the manga to not use any gendered pronouns for Hanji or to use male and female pronouns equally. He also told them to do the same for all past references to Hanji's gender and gendered pronouns. That is what the canon word of God says.

This only means that Isayama doesn't give a fuck either way. Just remember: He only pulled this a long, long time after the whole "is that a girl" tweet that started it all. Which to me only means that he is trolling the fandom, big time. Wouldn't be the first time.

Huh, where did I say THAT? I just disagreed with someone who tried to argue that Hanji is canonically a woman. Hanji is canonically gender ambiguous and every headcanon is right.
