Re: Greeting F!Sers, how are you doing this fine evening?

Pretty good. Procrastinating on work and then heading to a hockey game in the evening, so that should be fun.

The game that is... not the procrastinating. I really wish I didn't procrastinate like I do.

Thanks! I'm hoping they're having a Chuck A Puck thing at halftime because it's always my favorite thing to see right after the testosterone laden fights.

What's Chuck a Puck? I don't think I've seen that.

It's usually a charity thing. There are booths spread out around the arena where you can buy pucks (normally a couple dollars each), and then during halftime they put a bucket or other designated target area in the middle of the ice rink and people are given 30sec to a minute to try and chuck their puck(s) into said area to win a prize.

I love it because for that short time it ends up like a plague of locusts has suddenly descended.

That's pretty neat. They don't do that at the games I've been to (I've gone to the Staples Center, HP Pavilion, and Prudential Center).

Maybe it's a regional thing? I'm in the general Seattle/Tacoma area and they normally have them here, though I know it's not just us since the youtube videos I looked up are all from different places.

It looks like the game for the youtube was an AHL game and I've only ever gone to NHL games, so maybe that's the difference? They do different things at NHL games. I always like the peewee games-the little kids are so cute on the ice.

Seattle for whatever reason doesn't have a pro-hockey team, so all the games here are local games between the different cities of the region.

Surprisingly, a friend and I were talking about where you could add expansion teams and Seattle is always our option, but without a basketball team we think it'd be hard to support the arena.
