Re: 'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane

Well, I'm from Oregon, so I don't know if that counts as much as a "colder climate". |D But I'll probably be bringing a couple t-shirts, and at least a pair of shorts. I'm mostly there for a con, though, so I'll probably just take my chacos; I'm usually good with standing in them for long periods.

Yeah, I think I'm definitely going to look into that. :3

My friend from Chicago thought Arizona was the perfect climate - dry, dry, dry, and warm-to-hot.

If you're going to a con, though, you'll be in a more or less controlled clime. Unless you're going out to explore, that is.

And, bonus, you can haul your water bottle to the con, because I'm always wanting something to drink when I'm at conventions (sometimes a lot harder than water, depending on the crazy).

I'll keep that in mind- especially the dryness. I'll probably have to do something to remember I drink enough water. |D

Well, the con is at old Tuscon, and from what I can tell, most of it's outside? I think? I've never been before, so I'll have to double check with my friend who has...

Yeah, I need to remember to do that. Get like, a clip or something and attach it to my belt/purse so I don't forget it...

Yeah, do take that into account, you do not want to get dehydrated at a convention!

Nope! Especially when I'll still have to deal with a plane ride home. D:

Tucson (note spelling; we are touchy about that) anon again!

Oh, it's Old Tucson (and presumably Wild Wild West Con)? Then the temperature issue is going to be second to the dust issue. It's not only mostly outdoors -- there are lots of buildings, but they're all small and can only hold one event each, and the one year I went half the vendors were in outdoor tents -- but it's entirely unpaved. You will get dusty, and there will probably be a good bit of wind. Definitely going to re-emphasize the "be prepared for unpredictable weather" advice, because that place is really exposed and it gets the extremes in both directions.

Also, if you or whoever is driving you hasn't been there before, be aware that it is in the middle of nowhere and the road to get there is both narrow and twisty. My high school senior prom was held there for some ungodly reason, and my friends and I all ended up in a limo that our parents paid for because they didn't want us trying to make the drive.

Ah! Sorry!

Yeah, that's the one! Ah, dust. My old enemy. *shakes fists*. I'll see if the people I'm riding with are okay with me storing some extra/backup clothes in their car, so that we're prepared for extremes, because that doesn't sound like fun. D:

I honestly don't know yet, I'll ask them. Thanks!
