So in a few months my ten year HS reunion is coming up. I have mixed feelings, though I think I've settled on "I'll go if enough people I liked are going." But given that most of them are far away now, I'm not sure that's happening, and I haven't spoken to some of them in years anyway. I just would actually want to see them, as opposed to everyone else, who I either didn't know or didn't like.

TBH I'd much rather just take the people I liked out for dinner and drinks or something. But everyone has different schedules, and I didn't have a "crowd" so much as a scattering of people I was friends with, so it wouldn't really work.

At the same time, if I miss it, will I regret it?

Even if it's crap, it should still be a memorable experience with some food for thought and/or fodder for stories later on, so I say YES, go.

I haven't gone to any of mine. Though to be fair they are horribly organized and I didn't know some of them were even happening. I've remained friends/in contact with the people I like and get enough of the gossip to satisfy my curiosity of those I didn't stay in touch with.

I don't regret skipping out on any of them.

I missed it; I didn't regret it. And from a lot of older folks, I hear to skip the 10, and show up for the 25's or so. So, my plan - that is it.

I skipped my 10 and don't regret it. The mere idea of going causes stupid amounts of anxiety so it was an easy decision to skip it. Most of the people in my class were not kind to me growing up.

This is probably what I'll do. I'm anxious around crowds and either didn't like or know the majority of my class; doesn't seem worth the effort.

I'm still <10 years from my graduation. I can relate to your feelings though; there are really only 4-5 people I'd really like to see who I'm not currently in contact with; and the one I'd like to see most of those would probably be the one least likely to attend.

If your circle are going to the reunion, maybe ask them if they wanted to meet before or after while they're in town and all attend the reunion together?

Hell no.

I skipped my ten year renuinon and went the the twenty year reunion. It worked out perfectly for me because I wasn't close with anyone and needed the extra ten years to become curious about my classmates. But it was a really small class (60 then, 53 remaining) so it wasn't like I was going to meet anyone at the ten year reunion that I hadn't met before, except maybe a few spouses.

Skipped mine, don't regret it. This is the Facebook age; if I wanted to catch up with my classmates I'd have done it already.

I don't know if I will go to mine in a couple of years, I didn't much like most of my High School classmates. I will probably go to one of my Jr High ones*, as I am actually curious about them, which thinking of it is in not too long.

Do what you feel like doing Anon! Go if you want to, don't go if you feel that is better.

*In three years I went to three different Jr High Schools.

No, but I might have if I'd been notified? We were supposed to sign up on Classmates or something, and I never did.

No. I've never gone, and I haven't regretted it. I think it would honestly be weird. I haven't spoken to most of those people in almost 20 years now.

I looked at the list of people who had RSVPed and didn't recognize any of the names, so I decided not to go. If some of my old friends had decided to go or I'd gotten back in touch with them and convinced them to come with me, then I probably would have gone. I didn't go to my ten year college reunion either because I went to a very large university and most of my friends were not in my year.

Mine's next year, dunno if I can be bothered. I'm going to be busy having my life, why go to a party with a bunch of people I barely remember? I've stayed in touch with the ones I liked.

Nope. I've kept in contact with all of the people I care to keep in contact with from my high school years.
