Yep, I really have to agree with this. The idea that Bruce Wayne is some unhinged psychopath is pretty popular fanon too. I've lost count of the number of times that people have used an out-of-context comic panel as evidence that Batman in the comics is some kind of psychotic asshole.
(For example this post kept showing up on my tumblr dash the other day, with tags like 'Batman's bad parenting skills'. Nevermind the fact that in actual context Bruce had been given superpowers and had lost his mind, and Nightwing had initiated a fight with him to take him down. But no, this is just violent and crazy old Bruce on a normal day, probably throwing Dick out of a window because he talked back to him.)
