"Inside schools"? Do you...not have class inside where you live or...?

An inside school is one where they have a cafeteria inside. The hallways to go to each class are inside. Everything but the field is inside. Rainy days mean nothing.

An outside school has the cafeteria outside if it has a proper cafeteria at all. There are no hallways. You go outside to get to each classroom. Everything is outside except the office and the classrooms. Rainy days mean you get to eat inside a classroom, the library, or the gym if you have one and it is the coolest shit.

(As for having classes outside... I've only had those when testing rockets or when there was a power outage.)

Ah, okay. Here we don't refer to them by those terms so I was very confused. And...honestly? We don't have the entire thing outside here because 116 degrees + 80+% humidity = having it set up like that is generally a very bad idea.

Sorry about that.

Ah, I meant, like, warmer as in temperate. I should have been more specific. The fact is, I've only seen inside schools depicted and... I will be honest in the fact that I don't think I've seen a single inside school in my area at all.

Eh, not your fault.

Oooh, okay. Yeah, mostly it does seem to be inside schools, though I think Easy A might show an outside one?

I don't think I've ever seen that movie. That actually makes me want to see it.

I get the reason why they don't do outside school that often. It's much easier and cost effective to make a few sets than it is to find an outside school to shoot on location or actually make a bunch of outside sets.

nayrt but I think Brick is another example that uses an outside school?

I'm actually surprised they're not more common b/c I would assume there's probably tons of them in SoCal so it shouldn't be that hard to find a location.

Brick? This Brick?

They're very, very common in SoCal. I just think people don't want to shoot at them. I dunno.

Is it good?

I though it was decent. The slang wore on me a little but I liked JGL in it a lot.

Will keep that in mind, thanks.

I've seen a few outside schools in Florida and they blew my mind. I was pretty jealous that they got to be outside so often.

The show Malcolm in the Middle had an outside school for the elementary school and high school settings.

AYRT

It was a cute movie. Just don't go into it expecting some great awesome thing, and you should be okay.

It probably is - it might also be because it's a lot easier to keep people from getting in the way when you're in a building and they can't really see where you're at than if you're outside.

Ah, thanks. Good to know.

This is also true. So, less accurate but more practical.

Easy A does depict that kind of school. And now that Teen Wolf films in SoCal, so do they, at least partly.

The Easy A high school looked remarkably like my high school -- did you ever come to my high school?

Also, it was filmed in Ojai, CA, which is a little north of LA.

The school in Easy A is exactly what all my grade schools looked like -- especially high school, since it was all one story, but we didn't have an indoor basketball court. Just a big theatre (ah, arts school).
