Telling people to relax because it's fiction is really annoying. I'm sure the OP was not unaware that the movie isn't real. That's really not the point.

Well, it's how the secret is phrased. Obviously people can and do get upset about fiction, but...my point is that OP is talking about some hypothetical point in the future where the characters could possibly suffer adverse effects from what she did (even though the film did not present those events as negative). So, it's not even getting upset over a story, it's over one specific hypothetical outcome.

And that's not even remotely weirder than getting upset over a story in the fist place, so I don't see your point.

no...I totally get where OP is coming from. In fact it seems weird to me to not be thinking about the future consequences of actions if you're really immersed in a story.

It's a flaw that makes it a bad story to the OP, I don't see anything weird about that.
