oh my fucking god are you seriously complaining about the name of a school in a childrens book where characters have names like xenophilius lovegood and dedalus diggle

Xenophilius is cool though, it's the opposite of xenophobe is is a clue to what kind of person he is (like a lot of the HP names).

Yeah, it was the perfect name for Luna's dad.

I got the impression that the strange names for magical folk were 1) just the set of names that got handed down over generations in that community and 2) a way to distance themselves from Muggles, especially if you're big on blood purity. On the one hand, you have the Blacks; on the other, the Weasleys. It's fun to think about, anyways.
