I think it depends on how dismissive one is about it. I've seen Disney fans get WAY defensive about liking the movies as adults. Occasionally someone behaves like you've smothered your inner child with a plastic bag or something.

I once offhandedly said that I wasn't really interested in going to Disney World. I've been to both Disney World and Disney Land as a kid, their resorts and restaurants are really expensive and I'd just rather spend my money to travel someplace else.

OH GOD THE DRAMA THAT ENSUED.

AYRT

Of course. The next thing I was going to suggest to OP was, "Or maybe it's not what you were saying, it's the way you were saying it..." People generally don't take it well when you say things that could be construed as judgmental of their interests.

I don't know what that Disney World snit is about, though. It is horridly expensive and I've said the exact thing you did tons of time to hearty agreement.

I always thought that people considered it creepy for an adult to go to Disney World if they don't have kids.

uuuuum maybe if the adult is creepy? Otherwise no way, there are plenty of adults who go without kids.

I've been to Disneyland and I didn't enjoy it at all.

Would never admit this IRL, though, since it would cue the immediate chorus of: "BUT IT'S DISNEYLAND!"

Theme parks just aren't my thing.
