That said, I did enjoy Frozen although I'm getting a bit worn out on the Pixar/Disney/Dreamworks 3D aesthetic compared to Book of Kells, Chico & Rita, and The Illusionist.

Wait, it isn't based on Cars? Huh.

That Muppet thing is a dick move.

I didn't like Frozen. I feel bad about that since everyone is either shitting themselves over it or disliking it for reasons I think aren't good criticism.

Yes, Planes was based on Cars, which DisneyToons bought from Pixar.

Pixar, Walt Disney Animated Pictures, Walt Disney Pictures, and DisneyToons are separate production companies.

Yeah, I know that. I just didn't know it was switched over.

The Book of Kells was amazing.

I haven't seen the other two - I'm guessing you recommend them? I'll check them out.

Chico & Rita is one to watch for the art design and for Bebo Valdez's musical retrospective of Cuban jazz. Bebo is one of the masters.

Chomet's Illusionist is beautiful and melancholy.

For some reason I thought Chico & Rita was a live action film, just with an illustrated poster? Which put me right off, I hate that bait & switch. I have it queued, I'll watch it tomorrow after your rec.

Hadn't even heard of the Illusionist.
