Not AYRT but I'd bet money that they're talking about Don Camillo. And for the record, anon is right; I wasn't aware that they tried to remake them but I'm not surprised they bombed. Don Camillo and Peppone and the actors who played them are too iconic to just remake them. It would be like a remake of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air without Will Smith.

Huh, but I've seen the remake (the one with Terrence Hill) on German TV several times, so that's not it.

... Terrence Hill is in the remake? They didn't remake it as a Terrence Hill/Bud Spence flick, did they? (I love their movies, but the thought of them as Don Camillo and Peppone pains me.)
