Y halo thar' 3. TL;DR.
I will never understand why people in this fandom feel the need to be so hateful toward each other. And that's both sides of the fence. It's fandom... for a game with talking animals and giant keys for weapons. Imaginary characters and plots and worlds. Wouldn't think it'd be serious business. The flaming, the mocking, the petting insults of people who have a different opinion or perceive something in a different way... such a shame to see that everywhere. Can't imagine anyone from Square or Disney being tickled to know their fandom is a giant squabbling pot of
"BUT MY OTP REIGNS SUPREME AND YOURS SUCKS IT!"
"THOSE CHARACTERS HAVE NO DEVELOPMENT BOO."
"EW YOU LIKE THE GIRL CHARACTERS? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
... and so on. I guess that's what you get for having a fan base with a large age range? (And no, I doubt anyone from Square or Disney really cares given the pile of money they're rolling in but hey~)
People can't be happy to just live and let live, enjoy what they like and ignore what bugs them... Oh no, let us go forth and personally insult anyone who doesn't share our esteemed opinions. There's a big difference between having and expressing one's opinion and just being an arse about it all. But I'm totally sure anyone who liked the Organization is a worthless idiot. Right. 'Course then there's the group that thinks anyone who liked Sora is a moron and the group that thinks Riku was too emo and should have been scrapped and Kairi was pointless for running like a girl and not fighting enough and having boobs (but not boobs big/wiggly enough to distract the disgruntled fanboys). And Donald was annoying and got killed too often, Mickey was too dramatic, Goofy fails at life. And heaven forbid you like or tolerate all of the characters for their contributions to the game, however small and/or dry... you are just a crime against fandom nature.
Aye, I liked the first KH better than the sequels. True, the Organization was lacking in any sort of depth and has been overrated by many a fangirl, but I had fun with all the games. Even the dreaded CoM card system. And KHII had its odd benefits. Go into drive forms, very shiny, mindlessly button mash- produces more shiny! Nice setup. Sure, it's not God of War shiny (ah, blood flow-eth like a fountain) but it's shiny. Maybe Nomura did drop the ball a little. Don't know, don't care. Had fun, will buy the future installments. Will watch as more people bitch and whine and fist shake at each other over little pixel details.
But yeah, I did play and finish CoM. And imported for RE:CoM/FM+. Ooh, double dipping on the bland characters.

First I like to say, I too played all the games and I agree. Sometimes, it's just not your cup of tea. Oh wells, *shrug* And second, LOL at the mental image of double dipping Axel's head in guacamole, as he says: 'Commit it to memory' on loop.

I am seriously considering leaving all the KH communities I'm affiliated with and clearing out all my KH icons.

It's why I just don't go near the fandom these days, and just stick to liking the games myself and with my close-knit group of friends. And I love it all, the Originals, the Square AND the often-forgotten Disney.
