I'd rather you not call my friends "posse" because they are my friends and not just people who follow me around, which I bet is what you're assuming.

And I'd also prefer you tell me personally what it is you have against me, rather than hiding behind the mask of anonymity. I don't know what I might have done to anger or offend you, but I wish you would tell me, so that I could try to change or make things better.

As for the whole "slipping BNF" bit? First of all, I wouldn't say I'm a BNF at all. I'm just another member of the YGO fandom who just happens to make icons. I've never pretended to be better than others who make icons, nor will I ever. In fact, I believe there are many icon makers in the YGO fandom that are far better than me. I'm just someone who got bored one day and started playing around Photoshop. Whether people like my icons or not, whatever... It's just something I do for fun. In regards to the "slipping" part: just because I'm not as active in the fandom any more (due to personal/health reasons), does not necessarily mean people will like me more or less. If people like me, then they like me. If they don't, they don't. I cannot control that.

So I would appreciate it if you would stop calling me such a name.

I have said "BNF" and that is what I will stand by, not due to level of craftsmanship or anything like that, but the flails that come when someone doesn't like your work or disagrees with you - which always seems to come to "I am in these elite communities", with the implication that therefore you must be great or at least better than anyone else and their opinions. That is a BNF attitude, and therefore I will stand by my BNF statement.

As for the term "posse", I will retract that. My apologies: I was thinking of days gone by when someone would insult someone and there would be calls for friends to go flame them. I believe that was a year or two ago, though, and also involved mod mentioned in Not!Fandom 1. Perhaps things have changed since then.

I have only ever once made a point of stating I was in elite icon communities, and that was in my own personal journal, as part of a rant, in response to a comment someone made to me somewhere else. However, instead of replying to the person with that poor behavior, I chose to use my personal journal instead, and then calmly reply to the commenter later. And like I said, that only happened once. I don't parade my talents around as if I'm better than any, and don't assume to know more than anyone else. Like I said, I think there are plenty of other icon makers that are far better than I will ever be.

On top of that, I don't like arguing with people very often. I avoid conflicts like the plague because I'd rather make friends with people than quarrel with them. I don't hold my intelligence higher than anyone else's either. I try to help where I can by sharing the knowledge I do have, but that knowledge is always something I've learned from somewhere else (and in the case of fandom, that's usually kokorononaka.net).

And I would NEVER ask my friends to go flame someone else simply because the other person might not like me or disagrees with me. In fact, I discourage it. I'm a firm believer in the idea of treating others as I would like to be treated, so I choose to handle situations to the best of my ability, on my own and I also try my best to please people, rather than annoy or anger them.

That's why comments like yours and that of the other anonymous people who do not appear to like me have hurt so much. I do not know what I've done to anger you or the others, but I would like to somehow make amends. That's how I always feel about people who are upset. Because when other people are upset (whether at me or in general), I get upset as well.

Perhaps I was misquoted on the frequency of the elitism, but there it is, though. My sources aren't always perfect. Of course, they also say I'm the mean mouse on your journal, but thank you for at least realizing that not all the mice are me.

I would say the ire in the original mouse's statement comes the "my friends totally know who this is" bit, as in "no one else is supposed to get it, it's a huge in joke LOLZ". It comes off a bit condescending, a bit more of the BNF attitude I assume you are trying to shed.

I have left your list quite a while ago, shortly after the flaming section. I cannot quote when it was, as I am not on your list nor your counterpart's list and have no wish to return, but it did happen, perhaps on said counterpart's journal.

As one friend pointed out to me, the concept that all BNFs are elitist or arrogant is a generalization. By saying that, it would equivalent to saying that every Yami x Yuugi fan is also an Anzu basher, which is not the case, of course. I never asked to be popular, nor did I believe I'd ever become popular. It just happened. I personally don't like the idea, because I liked it when I wasn't well known and was able to make friends easier. Now, however, it seems as if I'm unapproachable, and I don't like that at all. It saddens me.

As for the secret, the bit at the top was added only because after several other secrets I made, my "style" of making secrets had become rather obvious. It was that obviousness was what I was pointing out (and almost mocking, in a way) by adding the "My friends bit." I never intended it to come off as condescending, especially since it is rather obvious who made it. But I guess I'd hoped too much to think that people would get a bit of a laugh.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not interested in me or my friends any longer. If you are whom I think you are, than I can understand. There's no sense in dragging up what's in the past. Still, I would appreciate if you would not look down upon me or think of me in a negative manner. I certainly don't think of you in such a way.

The air of unapproachability is not as bad as some, but I don't think it's an issue. In fact, the only reason I'm not signed in is I'm sort of on a public PC and don't have my password for my new account memorized. (No, no, it's better to have something completely random that you can't remember. That way hackers can't get in like they did the last one. Yeah, and neither can you if you're not at home. My boyfriend is a brain surgeon sometimes.)

See, the downside of the interweb is that mocking oneself doesn't come through, while mocking others shows in abundance, even when it's not there. The horrors of text.

As for my identity, no, I'm probably not who you think I am. I never commented or made any contact back then. I was just one of those sad little people trying to look cool by association by having you on my friends list.

Also, in regards to ankhutenshi, while she may be my best friend that does not mean I approve of her behavior all the time. In fact, I tend to tell her how I don't like her tendency to jump people "in my defence" because she is often times too reactionary. But I cannot control her behavior, and it's not my place to ask her to change her personality for me. I don't always agree with her reactions to things, but I am not and should not be held responsible for them.

If it's because I'm friends with her that you are angry with me, than I feel that is a sad reason to dislike someone you might not know very well at all.

Disliking a person and disliking an attitude are different things. It's elitism and BNF personalities that I don't like, not people in particular.
