Barring a few shows, I thought anime fandom in general on tumblr was still fairly male dominated?

Not really, at least all the fandoms I'm into are female dominated on tumblr.

I also think it depends what you're blogging. If your blog is The Yaoi Zone, then, yeah, you really aren't going to have male followers. If you reblog mainly gifs and hetero/yuri stuff, then more guys will follow you.

I've been in fandoms where some girls have tons of male followers because they don't like slash ships and only reblog sexy anime girls which would be relevant to male otakus' interests.
