i would actially like to klnow why the fsact that something is geared toward children would make it 'dumb.'

not that i don't feel you, op; a lot of people think animation in general is just for kids and side-eye amy adults who enjoy it, whiuch is rathetr dsilly,

OP here

I'm sorry for the word usage, but I've met so many people who declared animes like this being "dumb" and "unwatchable", that I think almost everyone treats them like this...

Mostly because, everytime someone sees an anime aimed towards kids, they start associating it with something worse or better, depending on their previous experiences. And since most of them sees the surface: colorful characters smiling like idiots; one or two episodes out of 40, they miss the parts when the series starts breaking away from its target audience with the whole concept of war. ((*cough* kids having PTSD *cough*))

I haven't watched this show (I might someday) but I get where you're coming from. I'm a huge fan of certain other "kids" anime that a lot of people aren't even willing to try just because they're aimed at kids. Personally, I'll watch a show if the plot/characters interest me. Target audience means nothing to me.

NO. NO.

YOU ARE BAD.

IT IS WRONG.

STOP IT YOU. STOP STOP STOP.

Sorry about the lack of fandom, OP. I had similar problems with the Digimon-franchise, but that one was hard to ignore because of its dub. I don't know much about the series, but unfortunately anything what includes a younger cast of characters and freaky hairstyles earns the "dumb children show" title from hardcore fans who live on mainstream stuff, and when it gets too dark they start complaining about that.

Imho, the setting with the virtual countries seems really promising, so I might give this a try.
