Your words make sense - especially "an individual can be hurt by members of a more marginalized group" and "a privileged person did not create their own privilege." Poorly-handled anger is understandable, but still poorly-handled.

That and it's very often legitimate anger, so people don't feel like they should manage themselves or tell someone to let cooler heads prevail. If you've been treated lesser your whole life, you have every right to be angry. I don't think, however, that you have the right to treat someone else the same way. Then again, I think every group is built one by one, so I'm not willing to risk losing another person just because I'm mad at someone else or at a situation. Now, if a man is being sexist, I'll call it out to an appropriate level, but I'm not going to treat another man worse because of what the first man did.
