Well, in three technically -- he never appears, but he figures pretty heavily in The Valley of Fear.

Oh I see. The Valley of Fear is actually the only Holmes story I haven't read (I couldn't find it for ages) so I didn't know that, sorry.

Okay, so Moriarty is a pretty prominent character, but still not so important that other villains should get ignored in his favour.
