It's poking fun at the kind of slow, deliberate clapping you sometimes see in movies where people are showing not just approval but admiration (sometimes unexpectedly or grudgingly). It can be entirely positive or it can be used sarcastically.

Personally, I've never stepped on a Lego but I have stepped on dry dog food and that pain is indescribably horrendous.

gdi, that is probably a Homestuck thing. I can't stand "in-character" blogs or typical everyday posts with that. It's 2--ED6Y for me.

Take back what I said, I'll keep "homestuck" and all variations of troll names blocked. Just give me the miraculously less obnoxious chatspeak, please :(
