I think the OP meant that the range of the character's prototypes/archetypes who contribute to her image is so wide that there's no reason to think that she's of any particular race. I.e. she can be black while being Dr. Dollitle-ish, but, seeing as the original Dolittle wasn't black, it isn't necessary.

This logic is weird (to be like somebody!=sharing any of their appearance traits??), but they didn't mean to say that the character is obviously white because Goodall and Dolittle were.
