How has 2014 treated you so far?

(Anonymous) 2014-01-31 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
As the title says, how has the new year treated you so far now that January is just about over?:)

2014 has been quite good for me so far! I've moved out and is now living by myself for the first time, which is going surprisingly well (except for the fact that I now really see how horrible I am at cleaning... But that will come with some more time!) and I've gotten a new baby sister, who is just so precious! So, so far, so good!

How about you guys? :)

Sucks giant hairy donkey balls.
pantswarrior: Phoenix's stupid hat covers up the fact that he still has lawyerbrains. (naruhobo)

Pretty good... I'm living by myself again for the first time in years, and it's really helped me sort out some of my issues without being self-conscious about dealing with them because I know someone's there seeing the messed-up eating habits and contorting myself into awkward positions to try to ease the constant pain. Aside from that, not much has happened to differentiate it from the last parts of 2013. (Ask me again in three weeks - Katsucon will have happened by then and I'm sure SOMETHING interesting will happen with that, whether good or bad...)
starphotographs: ...I'm not that bad, though. And I don't even light things on fire! Well, not regularly... (Izaya (devious))

Except the damn dentist/Eye Doctor/Doctor thing, which fucked up my economy again, nothing special has happened. Started up with a new semester, with an extra subject (which I don't get to go to most of the lectures in as I have my "main" subject at the same time) and a lot of schoolwork. All in all the year is going okay.

Fine, I think. I draw a lot, cook myself awesome stuff, and read awesome books. The only downsides are that I worry about everything and that I started seeing nightmares about my childhood trauma, which sucks. Also, I'm kind of lonely in my liking for obscure works of fiction (but on the other hand, I'm very happy that there are at least a couple of people who are willing to converse with me on the subject of, say, Murder Rooms or the nitty-gritty details of the Canon).

It's been... pretty shitty, tbh. I didn't get into the course I wanted, and was late applying for the others, and my part-time job has cut back my hours (I think this is their hint for me to leave). And my mother and I have been arguing a lot.

Luckily I did get into a teaching course... but I'm not sure I even want to do teaching. At least I'll be assured of a steady job, I guess.

Thus far, it is "less stressful than the ending of 2013 but still more stressful than I would like".

Pretty good. I'm starting to make some progress toward the second draft of my current novel, and my cat is finally completely free to roam the house after a 3 month recovery from knee surgery. I've also written a full page in my journal every night.

That actually sounds better than pretty good. Though I have to add in the cold that ambushed me last night. I wasn't sick once in 2013.
starphotographs: This field is just more space for me to ramble and will never be used correctly. I am okay with this! (Ginko (default))

Compared to previous years... really fucking good! Which is the only way I can look at it right now.

Good, I've worked full time (like really full time - 50-60 hours a week) since the new year began. It's not permanent however, and might end in February or March - but extra money for the first time in ages is good. It means I can finally get a computer really soon!

Absolutely shitty. I've had two people I knew die in January alone. Also, lost my part-time job in December and not getting and freelance work in. Oh and I blew a tire on the highway yesterday. Fortunately I wasn't driving too fast and manged to stay in control of the car, but I new tire is another bite out of my already tight budget. So, joy all around.

Alright, been in the waiting limbo for 2014 to properly start. But if I'm lucky maybe I'll finally get my own place and a dog :D

Steady regular doses of RP with one friend, even while interaction with other RP contacts has been irregular for reasons of sickness and fandom drift.

I am glad I have the regular RP buddy. She's a good friend.

Pretty well. The best part of the year (so far) is that I'm basically on track to graduate college in May of 2015.
