Re: Any workout or healthy living tips?
And for weight training you shouldn't think about it as a time commitment so much as a rep commitment. In general, without getting too fancy, you take an exercise and try to work up to 3 sets of 10 repetitions of that exercise (for example, one set of bicep curls would be picking up an appropriate dumbbell and bringing it up to your shoulder from a hanging position ten times).
In the beginning, you might only be able to manage doing it one time for ten repetitions, but don't worry about that so much, it doesn't matter how much or how little weight you lift to start. As for how much weight to use, pick something that doesn't feel too comfortable, but that you can still lift fairly easily for about 3 repetitions (it should only start getting hard when you are doing those last few reps).
Just start out with a few basic exercises to target your upper body, lower body, and core. Popular ones that target multiple muscle groups are bench press, leg press, assisted pull-ups/chin ups, rows, and squats. Any decent gym should have machines to help with these.
And of course, you can always look elsewhere online. There are plenty of forums with great beginner strength training programs.
Take it slow, keep at it, and you will find that doing just a few of these will greatly increase your progress.
