I know this doesn't make any less sense than any other swear word, but I hate it when people use "ass" unnecessarily, as in, "I have a long ass wait at the airport". Really, you couldn't just have said you had a long wait, or used any of the hundreds of other words available to you?
And I just read an ontd comment which said something like, "I don't trust my drunk ass not to forget anything." 'MYSELF' IS A WORD. REALLY, IT IS.

UGH, IT'S SO IRRITATING. And so unbearably American.

And yes, I know this is the internet. And that language changes. And that Americans aren't devil-spawn. But that's one of my pet peeves.

I get feeling annoyed, but telling people to just not do it is silly. the way you write and communicate is a stylistic choice, and if people want to use unnecessary words to express their personality and mood at the moment, let 'em.
