This would be a fandom secret if I wasn't lazy, I guess. Anyway, my fandom has been spoiled that one of the main characters is going to die soon. Smart money's on the character that interferes with not one but two popular ships, one het, one femmeslash, involving the same woman. I do not give a flying rat's little hairy balls for who said woman ends up with. I love her. She's a great character. And she can remain single forever for all I care. Despite being a former lover of said shipper battleground, the character I think is going to kick the bucket is kind of a schmuck. An important plot-device kind of schmuck, who's already 'died' once (he got better, though word is the still upcoming death is 'actor is never coming back ever' final) but otherwise a regular guy. I like him. I also don't care if he ends up with the disputed-ship-bait or not; I don't ship him with anyone either.

The problem is why the character is dying. Persistent but officially-denied rumor (this show is good at those) says that the actor wanted off the show because fans of both the ships he got in the way of hate his character. I've no problem with hating characters. Hate all the characters you want. Except the bad-apples of both ships started attacking the actor on twitter and for all I know other places as well. Not really examples, but close: I hope you die, you're hideously ugly, why would *character* want you when she could have hot loving with *other character.* They tweeted the show-runners, saying the same shit. Admittedly, all the actors, and the creators, have gotten a lot of twitter-hate; one recently deleted her tumblr after she got some truly horrific tweets from some disgusting asshole. But no-one else has left the show for it.

Is it Neal from OUAT? If so, then I'm extremely disappointed. I love him and it seems like every time his actor is in a show, he dies.

I really, really fucking hate when fans take their hate for a character and unload it on the character's actor. They should really learn to seperate reality and fiction.

AYRT--Argh, fuck, broken html! And yes, it's Neal. The other guess for the death is Hook; since his fanbase is bigger there are more assholes gloating at the thought of Neal's death than Hook's, although, should Hook die, there will be gloating assholes on the Neal fan side too, I'm sure. And the Swan Queen side, whichever guy dies. I kinda hate Hook, but I love the actor that plays him, and I seriously doubt he's going to die. ABC have promoted the heck out of Hook, Colin's an amazing actor, and he's serious eye-candy. I'm just not looking forward to the small proportion of Hook/Emma fans who are also shitheads, because those few will be getting their gloat on. Some have started already. Also, the show fake-killed Neal last season, we know how any of the characters who give a shit about him reacted to his death, so I think the only reason he could be dying is that the actor wants out.

Ugh, I'm so glad that I stay the fuck away from the OUAT fandom. I love Neal to bits and while I have some issues with his story and decisions, I still find him to be a good character. So if he dies and I think he will since like you said the chances of it being Hook are slim, I will be so damn disappointed. I like Hook and have no dog in the shipwars, so I'm doubly glad I stayed the fuck away.

The fact that peoppeople are already gloating just gets under my skin. Damn it, why must I alwayd be a fan of the basebreaker/scrappy characters? Anyway, I wonder why his actor wants to leave. Any news from Michael on it?

No word on if the death is even him, which makes me mad. And only persistent fandom rumor that the actor, whoever they are, wants to leave; official word is that the death was planned early on. Which, given that the potential deaths are Emma, Regina, Henry, Snow, Charming, Belle, Hook, and Neal, makes me go "pull the other one, it's got bells on," because how stupid do the PR guys think the fandom is? No way are they killing off any of the first five, Belle is a long sell because I doubt they'd kill a Disney Princess™, and Hook, as mentioned, has the full weight of OUAT's crappy publicity machine behind him. Given that spoiler pics put all the above characters, barring Neal, in a cemetery wearing all black last episode, and it's been said a couple of times that the death is already filmed, I doubt it could be anyone else. Sigh. I wish someone would just spoil the damn death already, because the fandom as a whole is pretty sure, but there's that little uncertainty... Actually, some of my faith in humanity was just unexpectedly restored. If anyone really wanted to freak the whole fandom out, they could go on record saying it wasn't Neal, but one of the other seven.

It is frustrating but I don't we will know who it is unless there's some sort of leak before the show airs. There's no fucking way they'd kill any of those characters as you've pointed out. Damn it; I like Hook, but I'd rather hime die than Neal. Fuck, maybe it is a funeral for Rumple? Didn't he die? I can barely remember the finale so I'm not sure. Either way, he's not going to be gone for long.

There's the off chance it's a memorial for Rumple, who is 'tv dead' in that there was no body, but like flaming monkey shit are they killing Robert Carlyle. It'd kill the show, or close to. They made him the plot glue for the whole rickety soap opera. If it is a memorial for Neal's dad, why is he not there? And the death itself isn't a rumor, it's been confirmed that a series regular is dying, after a PA for the show was complaining on twitter (where else, sigh) that they'd been spoiled for a death, that the actor would not be sad to go because they didn't enjoy the work, and that whoever they are leaves their trailer a mess. One of the writers denied that whoever it is is sick of their job and said the death was plot driven and long planned. After that, a bunch of "official" spoilers popped up in various places. So a choice of eight people; nine, with Carlyle, but in the same articles which confirm that it's a series regular they admitted they're not killing him off "because he's already dead (wink wink nudge nudge.)" And yeah, I can't tell if the unofficial 'my friend has a friend who works on set fetching coffee and they heard' spoilers are legitimate or just shit-stirring. Maybe both.

That's a legitimate point. Why isn't Neal there if it is a memorial for his father? Probably because I'm over here grasping at straws for why it won't be him. There's no way in hell they'll ever get rid of Rumple. Dude has a huge fanbase and it wouldn't be good for the show like you said.

Ugh, of course, someone spilled the beans on twitter. Whoever it is, I wonder why they didn't enjoy working on the show. Makes me wonder if they're tired of the shitty writing or if there's any drama on the set. It could be just some shirt stirring. We will have to wait and see.
