Montmorency Returns

The book came out and the author never updated her website so no one knows it's out yet. I just ordered it and I have to wait til Tuesday before it gets here. I don't want to wait that long after waiting so many years!

And where's the fandom, anyways? Why haven't any of the millions of people who have read the books written fanfic?

There's a fourth book now? We might get to see what happened after the end of Montmorency's Revenge? O_O

Fifth book, actually :) It just came out last week (in the US, dunno about UK) so it's understandable no one knew about it. IMHO it was worth the wait, esp. if you know about the trouble she had getting it published and how she had a bad break with her editor right after Montmorency's Revenge was published.

A word of advice: read Montmorency's Revenge again before you read Montmorency Returns. The author has a "Who's Who" at the beginning but there's a key character in book 5 who only gets a little blurb and I didn't remember them at all even after I read the WW. I had to stop and refer to Montmorency's Revenge once I realized that they had been elevated in importance in book 5.

Eh, in her defense, she wrote the book a very long time ago and has long since moved on to other things. She did all she could to get it published and had no control over it for the last few years. She's also a real person with a real life and a real family and a career other than being the author of the Montmorency series. She's also said it's very hard for her to make changes to her website so she puts it off until she has a lot of time to devote to it.

I wish there were a fandom, too :( There are a couple fics on AO3 but I've had better luck finding stuff googling "Montmorency fanfiction" and variations of that. There is a fan blog on tumblr but it's inactive :(
