I think you're blowing this whole thing way out of proportion. It sounds like it was just one of those awkward social encounters, but nothing mortifying or really awful. Don't be so hard on yourself!

Maybe next time (if there is one) you could be more straightforward? I'm just guessing here obviously but maybe she was awkard because she didn't want to come out and say it was for asexuality if she wasn't positive you actually knew what it was? Maybe you could drop the word AVEN or ace or something to be a more straightforward clue?

Idk. I'm pretty clueless at the whole meeting other asexuals thing too but I honestly don't think this encounter was world ending mortification. Just take a deep breath and let it out and let it go.
