If you do run into her again, it doesn't have to be a huge awkward thing. You could say, "Hey, it's you again! Sorry, I was really nervous last time I saw you. I'm actually asexual, too. I'm just not used to meeting people like us just around, so I was acting pretty dorky." Most people are willing to forgive awkwardness if you own up to it.

And feeling rejected is totally normal, I think. You thought you had an opportunity for a friend, and you missed it. As long as you're not blaming her, I don't think it's irrational.

Don't be so hard on yourself. People make mistakes, and this is (not to downplay how you feel about it, but) just awkwardness. It's not like you defensively called her a prude, or anything. Everyone's awkward sometimes.
