It came out of nowhere, this is so sad...

I thought it was a hoax at first, and then it wasn't. Sadly, I haven't seen any of his work, but this is still so sad.

That's a shame. Never seen any of his movies, but nobody should die that young.

Actually, no, wait, I saw Cold Mountain -- since tried to block that movie from memory, though not because of him.

Just wondering, but what'd you dislike about Cold Mountain? I haven't seen it in years but I thought it was fine - not as good as the book but decent.

Everything. It was, in a word, turgid; and the ending was a waste.

Fair enough!

Thinking about it a little more, I guess most of my positive feelings about it boil down to "It was really, really pretty".

My friend texted me earlier about his passing. :(

He had three kids and a wife. So sad for them.

And he threw them away for his junkie heroin addiction (police found a syringe in his arm and baggies of heroin everywhere). Seriously, I hope he's burning in hell for leaving his three young kids without a father for his junkie habit.
segnung: A dyad in the force. ([film: BV] She wore blue velvet)

An incredibly talented man. Such a loss.

I only ever saw him in his blockbuster movies (MI3 and Hunger Games) but it's a bit sad, especially since he was only 46 :(

Who as he in HG?

Damn, I didn't really believe it when I saw it crop up earlier on facebook, but that sucks.

Gah, yea, he was so young. People shouldn't die that young; there was so much more he could've done with his life. I feel sorry for his family. :(

so very sad. He was too young and incredible talented. I didn't always like the roles he picked (Talented Mr. Ripley, foremost) but he never failed to do a good job.

Ok this isn't going to be the nicest comment I've ever made but -

Am I the only one who got a real creepy vibe from him? Not trolling or trying to do a radfem impression here. It's just you look at other fat guys like John Goodman, or Seth Rogan, and you get a cuddly friendly vibe.
You look at PSH and you think "Man that guys has murdered so many prostitutes" or "I bet he has a rape dungeon" You know?

Just always got the creeps BAD of him. He was (ironically) my slender man

This is precisely why i have never enjoyed his characters in pretty much any movie he's ever been in. I just...do not like the man, or the way he comes off in movies, or something.

I'm very sorry for him, and his family, and it's a horrible tragedy, but...i have never enjoyed watching him perform.

I've always gotten really bad vibes from him. I avoid his movies but didn't know he was in Hunger Games until we were in the theater and it was very uncomfortable for me.

Having said that, I'm very sorry for his family, especially his children. It's a shame that he's gone and my heart goes out to them.

I feel like the last few times I've come off a mountain, someone in the media has died: Michael Jackson, George Carlin, the last Joker, this guy... It's eerie.
