Do you ever watch a comedy routine...

(Anonymous) 2014-02-02 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
...and wonder how the hell the average tumblr user would handle it?

I was binge-watching Frankie Boyle. Imagining the reaction of tumblr made it twice as fun.

I don't find a lot of offensive jokes funny in comedy routines -- only in movies and TV, where they're embedded in a fictional context, so I'm not terribly familiar with most of them. I think I've only really watched Bill Cosby:

"Tell, me, why do people want to use cocaine?"

"Well, they say it enhances your personality."

"Yes, but what if you're an asshole?"

Not quite, but I recently remembered Stephen Lynch and was wondering why there wasn't a whole tumblr SJW squad out to kill him tell him to go kill himself.

"Average tumblr user" isn't all that different a demographic than "average Facebook user", fyi.

This sometimes happens when I'm watching @midnight on Comedy Central, because some of the jokes can get a little... offensive. I just imagine how crazy the SJW's on Tumblr would go over them, and it brings a little grin to my face.

Hell no. I remember seeing somewhere on tumblr that a stand-up comic was heckled ... because he used the term 'black' instead of 'POC'. To refer to himself. By a white lady.
